St Swithun’s School in Winchester is proud to have joined the Boarding School Association’s (BSA) Boarding Orchard by planting a pear and an apple tree in the school grounds.
In 1964, Cranleigh drama made the national press when it staged West Side Story, a radical move reflecting the changing times and the first amateur production of it in the world. Now the school is celebrating 60 years of musical theatre with another run of shows.
The festival, in its 47th year, saw a record 525 entries involving about 1,000 young musicians from 40 schools across Shropshire and North Wales - with Ellesmere College collecting 20 first places.
